Hello Everyone! This is Garrett from Promo Team Nashville. I plan to use this blog to provide job listings, showcase clients, and give Brand Ambassadors a guide to events, both large and small, in Nashville, TN. The city is changing rapidly, gaining venues, promotional opportunities, and events every year so I am sure there will be plenty to write about.

If you are a fan looking for information about the SEC Men's Basketball tournament please click here to be redirected to the SEC's Men's Basketball Championship information page.

The SEC Men's Basketball Tournament is taking place March 9-13, accompanied by a Fan-Fest held at the Music City Center. Most Brand Ambassador work will take place in the Music City Center, located downtown between 5th and 8th Ave, along Demonbrun Street and Korean Veteran's Blvd. The facility itself is quite large, but the biggest events almost always take place in the Main Exhibit Hall which is located at the top of the escalators at the 6th and Demonbrun entrance.

Parking is usually an issue with this venue, or should I say the cheap parking all BA's seem to love seems to be an issue. Parking at the Music City Center ranges from $10-$30 a day depending on the event, but the garage is very convenient. Downtown Nashville does have other, cheaper parking garages and lots within 10 minute walk to the venue. Almost all street parking downtown is metered except on Sunday. If you live, or are staying, close to downtown Uber and Lyft ride sharing services can get you downtown quickly without the hassle of parking and walking to the venue. Some companies will reimburse those rides if they are less than the parking allowance (assuming your agency/client covers parking). Nashville MTA bus fare is $1.70 one way to downtown from most places for those of you who prefer public transportation (4 and 20 bus in East Nashville, 3 and 5 for West End, 8 for 8 South, for more check out the Nashville MTA website).

The Music City Center itself is an impressive new facility. The restrooms and building are generally very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hard floors are the only real challenge the MCC offers. If your contract allows bring sturdy shoes. The floor in the main exhibit hall is very hard, and even with carpet down standing all day can become difficult. Food is available inside the facility, including inside the Main Hall. The MCC also has a Dunkin Donuts and a small pizza place located near the 5th and Korean Veterans Blvd entrance.

Because lunch breaks at this type of event are typically fairly brief your other food options will be limited. The Omni Hotel next door has a Bongo Java and Cummins Station has some quick food options, but you have to walk around a large, new construction site to get there. I don’t have much of a problem doing it though, a trip to the Morning Glory Deli is worth the little jog I have to do to get there and back on time (some places in Cummins Station close Sunday).

If you are looking for a little something to do after work you will be located in the heart of the downtown bar district, and people you work with will be able to direct you to one of the many night life spots across the city. We have lots of great music here in Nashville, TN, not just country, so there will be something great for most tastes on most nights.

BAs visiting from out of town also seem to always ask about great places to eat. I’ve not eatin at every place in Nashville, so here is my incomplete, non-critic’s Nashville restaurant guide. Nice dinner: Husk, Etch, The Southern Steak and Oyster (all located downtown). Barbeque: Edley’s(East Nashville), Jim and Nick’s (multiple locations), Jacks (downtown). Hot Chicken: Princes (East Nashville, cash only, and it is HOT). Wings: McDougal’s (Vandy Village). Vegetarian: Wild Cow (East Nashville). Burgers: The Pharmacy (East Nashville), Jack Browns (Germantown). Breakfast: Fido (Vandy Village). There are so many other great places to eat and drink, and I’ll be sure to post things about new spots when I try them out.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
